CALIFORNIA OFF-Road Diesel Regulation BECOMES LAW JUNE 15, 2008

California's Office of Administrative Law has approved California Air Resources Board's (CARB) controversial off-road diesel regulations.  The regulations are aimed at drastically reducing diesel particulates and fumes. Contractors, engineers, and construction industry experts are concerned that these new regulations are expensive and unrealistic in the time period given to comply (2009-2020).

Emission Retrofit

An emission retrofit is a cost-effective way to bring your existing machine or engine into compliance. A retrofit enables you to:

  • Meet emissions standards in your area
  • Avoid fines, penalties and work stoppages
  • Bid for contracts that require emissions compliance

Noncompliance Penalties

Compliance with emissions regulations is not a choice. It's mandatory. Noncompliance penalties in many areas include:

  • Hefty fines
  • Stepped-up enforcement by local and state agencies
  • Bid specifications and site permits that require diesel emissions reductions
  • Decreased profit margins and potential job loss
  • Legal actions, litigation costs and lost time
